Prambanan Temple, Central Java, Indonesia

In the "Sacred Travels ; 275 Places to Find Joy, Seek Solace, and Learn to Live More Fully" by Meera Lester and published by Adams Media in 2011, it said that Prambanan Temple was called as the most beautiful Hindu temple in Indonesia which actually contains many temples, including 3 (three) dedicated to the Hindu trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, the Creator, Sustainer, and Destroyer, respectively.

With its various lovely temples, astonishing panels of relief depicting the story of the Ramayana, and a magnificent tree of life, the Prambanan Temple stands as a masterpiece of tenth-century sacred Hindu architecture.

Allow for a fully day to see this temple and arrive early as crowds of tourists are already arriving at 9:00 A.M. (the temple opens at 6:00 A.M.). The nearest airport, Yogyakarta, is about 6 miles from Prambanan and serves Jakarta, Bali, and Singapore. There is also direct bus service to the temple complex through Transjogja, running about every 20 (twenty) minutes from Malioboro Street in Yogyakarta. Taxis will also take you to the complex. Once you are at the temple, there is a miniature train to take you around if you find the walking too strenuous.

If you want to deepen your faith or experience the centuries-old holy temple art, visit Java's Prambanan Temple. The temple is located approximately 11 miles from Yogyakarta.
